What You Can Do In The Rain

A couple of days ago it started to rain when we just got to the pool, the lifeguards heard thunder and they had to close the pool early. So we went to play at the park in the rain, the slide at our neighborhood park is long. As it rained we went down the slide, which while it was wet sent us flying till we hit the ground on our feet of on our butt! On of the really nice lifeguards came and joined us while he waited for his mom. The slide was fun and we played for a while in the rain, thunder and lighting! So that's what you can do in the rain!

Vampires and Pirates

I'm reading a book called Vampirates and I got to say I really enjoy the book. Its about a set of twins named Connor and grace there father dies and they never new there mother. When there father dies they go out to sea. They get into a bad storm that breaks there boat in half, they get separated from each other. Connor gets stuck on a pirate ship and Grace ends up on a vampirate ship! She meets the captain of the ship who tries to convince her that he does not want her blood and that she is a guest on the ship. She's allowed to go out of the cabin in the day but at night she is told to stay inside with the curtains shut! While Connor believes his sister is still alive everyone else on the ship says he just imagined the ship with the sail that look like wings, that he thought his sister was saved by. It's a really cool book you should read it!

Knitting

I had this fun activity that we got to learn how to knit!

My leader showed us several stitches but decided to teach us the easier stitch. I got this cool blue, turquoise and aqua colored yarn that makes a pattern similar to tie dye. It might take a while but I'm going to make a scarf, its not that I really need a scarf at all, but my leader said it is an fast and easy thing to do!
My leader also told us about her goal! She has planed to make one hundred baby caps, to give to a hospital that has new born babies. So every time a baby is born the parents can take a hat for there child.
She says that she has already done sixty and that her mother has done twenty! I wanted to help but I just learned how to knit a basic stitch, and she says; to make a hat it takes five needles (that's more than I can handle).
Once I get better I'll try to make a sweater or something, but that's way in the future and besides I might just want to stick with a sweater anyways!

The Amazing Girls Camp Adventure!

I know that I've been really lazy, and that I haven't blogged in a while but I'm going to attempt to write most of what we did at GIRLS CAMP!

First of all I enjoy girls camp so much, the singing, funny dancing (mostly done by fun people), certifying, service and I loved the theme this year: W.O.W women of worth. Everyone agreed that this was the most spiritual girls camp ever! We have cabins and are ward got the privilege to share the biggest cabin with the party ward, (Magnolia second)! Though threw out the week it might have seemed like we were the party ward, when ever we were about to go to bed another girl and I would shout and sing at the top of are lungs, some girl from are ward and magnolias ward sang including Sunbum. Plus every chance we got we would play the jump in jump out game, ride that pony, missionary tag, little Sally walker and mafia which they called Nephites and Gadianton robbers I loved that game and when we played it one robber took out another robber just to look innocent! Aloha that is hawaiian for hello, everything was covered in flowers, flamingos, tikis here and there in are cabin, leis and other hawaiian things. On the first day everyone was told that when the leaders or anyone else said Aloha we were to say Aloha back, this I enjoyed. When we were in are cabin or running around or in the cafeteria I would yell aloha with my friends just to see how people would respond and almost all the time girls would yell back aloha! We also have a scripture that if you want you can memorize one for everyday your there, our ward memorized it together everyday and said it to a stake leader together, and they would give us a diamond sticker to put on are name tags for everyday we said the scripture, the ward got all five! The one I remember the most is: I am a beloved spirit daughter of heavenly parents and as such I have a divine nature and destiny -The Family Proclamation to the World. Most exciting is our cabin including Magnolia 2 won the most clean award, which means that everyone else's cabin must have been really messy, because are shoes were everywhere, sock, cloths, tooth brush that nobody claimed and lights that we put up that fell and a lot more, but that did not mean we rejected the clean broom award. I made a lot of new friends two of them I made by talking about potato salad, which I got to mention was really good! We did not have secret sisters this year but instead we had nice notes, where you could write anyone a nice note and put it in there jar that they decorated. We were challenged by the stake leaders to say every time we look in the mirror: I am a woman of worth. I am a daughter of God. I have a divine destiny. Everyone was given a different diamond mine was big and green which is knowledge, we were the last ward to leave camp I will miss that place, the slide called the black snake which I went down twenty four times with my friend non stop! The songs that I now sing by my self before bed, the banging on the tables in the cafeteria while we sing the jello song, the services building (which is a small church building), my shirt that I tie dye there that got lost and never found, the little fox we saw, the little dipper in the sky that we looked at every night, the huge fire where we roasted our smores, the hike, using bows and arrows, and bb guns. Everything all miss till next year and counting. I love Girls Camp! Oh and on the last night we were playing Nephites and Gadianton robbers, the stake leaders go around and checks on everyone the first ward asleep leaves first, so a girl in are ward was standing in the middle of are circle and she said that if anyone came in we would pretend we were praying, we all thought she was joking but minutes later the door handled moved and we frozen on the floor in a circle, Em started to pray we all bowed our heads and crossed our arms when she was done we left to bed. When the stake leader left we assembled back into a circle again, most of us laughing at Em. Then Sunbum freaked us all out she said "shes back", we scattered like cats Sunbum told me later, I had ran to my friends bottom bunk and threw my self in her bed instead of climbing to my bed on the top, then my friend jumped into here bed slamming right into me I slide off her bed and crashed on to the floor. Then all you could here was Sunbum laughing at us, we all came back joining in on laughing!
